M.A. Joseph Francis along with CLAAS team member went to Gujrat for fact finding

CLAAS National Director Mr. M.A. Joseph Francis along with CLAAS team member went to Gujrat for fact finding of an incident occurred on August 15th 2019 when a Muslim man named Maskeen was entered in the house of Badhar Masih for robbery and attacked on three family members with his knife. Two women and Badhar Masih got injured and somehow they caught thief and called to the local police. The police registered FIR against him and after his medical examined locked him in the police station at Civil Line Gujrat. The invader died in the police custody during the confinement. After his death police allegedly involved five Christian and registered a murder case against Badhar Masih, his son and cousin and locked them in the police station. The Christian got frightened from the police especially three families of Badhar Masih and his cousins. Further the robber’s family also harassed and alleged them for murder. The sense of insecurity increased among the local Christian of the areas and they approached CLAAS for legal assistance. Mr. Joseph Francis National Director CLAAS and legal Advisor Mr. Akhtar Masih Sandhu had a meeting with the concerned police official regarding the investigation of this case and demand for fair investigation. CLAAS team also had a meeting with the members of local union and reconciliation committee for assurance to maintain peace in the locality.
