Pastor Shahbaz survived gunshots fired at him while he was coming home after visiting his congregation in March 2025. His brother filed an FIR of this incident at the local police station. Seven months later, he was informed by the police that they had caught some dacoits and would like him to come for identification. He was surprised to see that it was the same two men who fired a gunshot at him.
Pastor Shahbaz approached CLAAS for legal assistance as one of the assailants has filed a post-arrest bail in the Lahore High Court. CLAAS did the fact-finding of this incident and will now contest the bail on Pastor Shahbaz’s behalf.
