The incident of sexual abuse (A Young Christian Boy)

In a demonstration of solidarity with marginalized communities, a field team from the Centre for Legal Aid, Assistance and Settlement (CLAAS) recently visited Village Jindari, located on the outskirts of Lahore. The visit was conducted to conduct a fact-finding mission regarding a deeply troubling incident of sexual abuse involving a young boy from the Christian minority community.

The criminal case was formally registered based on the complaint filed by the victim's elder brother, Pastor Daniel John. Despite the registration of the First Information Report (FIR), the family has expressed growing concern over the delay in the apprehension of the suspect.

The victim, a young boy named Abraham, who is already coping with pre-existing mental health challenges, was allegedly subjected to a brutal sexual assault by a neighbor. The accused, identified as Muzafar, a married Muslim man residing in the same locality, is currently awaiting arrest as the police investigation remains ongoing.

During their visit, the CLAAS team met with the aggrieved family to offer emotional support and assess their immediate needs. The organization has formally pledged to extend comprehensive legal support to the family to ensure that the pursuit of justice remains unhindered. They are currently monitoring the police proceedings to ensure accountability.
