Justice Prevails: Christian Brothers Freed of Blasphemy Charges by ATC
The two main accused Rocky and Raja in the Jaranwala blasphemy case were allegedly arrested and were confined in the jail since August 16, 2023. CLAAS lawyer Mr. Tahir Bashir Advocate High Court was defending the two brothers. On February 29th, 2024 they were acquitted of all blasphemy charges by the Anti-Terrorism Court Faisalabad. On 31st January 2024 CLAAS lawyer filed an application for the immediate submission of challan in the court after which the ATC Court issued notice to the concerned Investigation Officer to appear in the court with the police report. Once the challan (Police investigation report) was submitted in court on 21st February 2024, later CLAAS’s lawyer filed an application for the acquittal of the two accused. February 29th, 2024 CLAAS lawyer Tahir Bashir made his argument before the learned Judge and at 14:00 the concerned Justice ATC Court Faisalabad gave his orders for the acquittal of the two accused. CLAAS hosted a thanksgiving prayer after their acquittal for the successful deliverance of justice in the Jaranwala blasphemy case.
