Activities Year 2021 From January to May
CLAAS celebrated “Employee Appreciation Day” by giving appreciation certificates to all its staff. A box of sweets was also given as a token of CLAAS gratitude. CLAAS is very blessed to have a committed and dedicated team to work with. CLAAS National Director thanked all staff members and hoped for brighter days ahead.
On February 5th 2021 CLAAS held a social integration with shelter survivors to give them awareness on Freedom of Expression. Certificates among the trainees of stitching skills training were also distributed.
On March 8th 2021, in connection with the commemoration of International Women Day 2021, CLAAS organized a session for women survivors in honors of their struggle for their survival in the society. Participants celebrated Women’s Day and through their discussion and performance described women’s struggle in society and highlighted different issues.
On March 23rd 2021 CLAAS distributed Certificate among the trainees of stitching skill training. In 2020 CLAAS accommodated 24 young girls at CLAAS shelter home for stitching and beautician skills training. As these girls are living in different areas of Lahore and belongs to poor families and during the pandemic situation of COVID-19 laborers family are jobless and has no proper income resources for their family’s needs. Many young girls who are illiterate and are staying at home approached CLAAS for help. While CLAAS shared with them about skills training for young girls their families requested shelter for their girls as it is not possible for them to arrange pick and drop for their young girls on daily basis. CLAAS organized six month (July to December 2020) stitching skill training and October 2020 to March 2021 six months beautician skills training in collaboration with the partners organization for the needy and poor girls who are staying at home and are interested to getting any skill. These girls are providing all basic necessities of life during the stay at shelter home and fallowed a time table according the activities. Shelter in-charge arranged all activities for them under the supervision of Program Officer CLAAS. CLAAS also arranged social integration for them to raise awareness so that they can aware about their issues and right and take preventive measures against the violence and discrimination against women as awareness, education and skills are necessary for women empowerment.
