This is to share with you that 13 innocent Christians are released on bail today at Supreme Court. These persons were arrested under FIR No. 392/15, offence under section 395, 324, 353, 186, 290, 291,427,148,149 PPC, 7ATA, registered at police station Nishtar Colony, Lahore.

Mr. M.A Joseph Francis was present in Supreme Court along with Advocates; Mr. Ameen Javed Chaudhry, Mr. Mehmood A Shiekh and Tahir Bashir .

Background:

On March 15, 2015 at about 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. there were twin attacks/ blasts of terrorist on Christ Church and St. John’s Catholic Church Youhanabad Lahore, Pakistan. 

The Christian community protested against the brutal attacks on Youhanabad Churches. During the demonstration two terrorists were killed and subsequently burnt alive by the mob.   After this incident Muslims extremists became violent and declared both terrorists namely Hafiz Muhammad Naeem and Baber Numan as innocent persons. Three FIRs registered against 500 to 600 unknown Christians at Nishtar Colony Police station, Lahore.

The Chief Minister of Government of Punjab has issued order to arrest the suspected Christians of Youhanabad who were allegedly involved in protest. After this order the concerned police arrested the people without any legal justification and infringed the basic rights
